Going Green
Not sure when this happened but suddenly I’m attracted to the color green. From my recent rain boots and raincoat purchase to purses (like this one and this one), plus dresses and tops I’ve been all over varying shades of green. It’s such a soothing color and perfect for all seasons. I’ve been reaching for soft sages like this adorable skirt and classic puffy sleeve top for this season which will carry me into both Winter and Spring. I grabbed this purse which is available in black and white. Below are some of my favorite picks from sneakers to staple pieces!

Fall is just around the corner and here in Texas it’s still in the 90’s. As much as I’m itching to pull out my sweaters, I know better. It’s just too dang hot for that right now. I’ve been playing with some new pieces from Chicwish and they are giving me all the romantic vibes that I will carry right into the cooler season. I’ll be able to layer a coatigan over some of these pretty feminine pieces when the temperatures finally drop and swap sandals for boots!
There’s something special about transitioning out of sundresses and shorts to more structured pieces like this black and white high neck maxi dress or this beautiful square neck black satin bow detailed dress. Both of these beauties are from CupShe and I’m loving what they are offering right now.
This picture was captured by my incredible husband this past week and I truly felt like it captured my essence. I am finally feeling like I have energy again and wanted to share insights to why I’ve been quiet on the blog this year. The past five and a half months brought a whirlwind of things I did not expect. Many of you guys have followed my journey over the years, but for some of the new faces I had a baby five months ago.
We just got back from an incredible trip over Thanksgiving and had the best time! I wanted to share a few of the outfits and activities with you in today’s post. Although a lot of our trip was business-oriented, we made time for some fun and relaxation. Toward the end of the trip, Marshall proposed! It was such a sweet surprise and I am so excited we are getting married. I’ll be sharing more about it in an upcoming blog post with the full story but wanted to round up a few looks in case you are traveling this season.
We decided to drive from College Station, TX to Denver over two days so my first few outfits were really comfy-oriented. I found that bodysuits are the perfect item to travel in since they offer support and convenience without having to layer underwear. I added cute leggings and cardigans over to stay cozy in the car. I also wore shoes that I could easily slip on and off for quick road stops. I’ve rounded all of my outfits and details for you to shop in this post! Read on…
Ever wear flats and immediately get blisters from walking? I know I do! I walk a lot and love wearing my flats in lieu of sneakers sometimes. Especially when I’m in the mood for a cute girly outfit. I follow a lot of European fashion and have been loving the new Mary Jane and sock trend I’ve been seeing everywhere. It’s girly without being too childish.
I absolutely love this time of year and getting to dress the Bump has been so much fun! If you follow my Instagram account, you will see tons of outfits I’ve been wearing lately like this short black dress styled two ways or this adorable pink dress that gives so much room for my growing belly. I had a few requests for styling tips and now that I’m in my second trimester I actually have a bump to show off! Currently, I’m sizing up one size in anything I buy so I have room for my larger boobs (yes they’ve jumped two cup sizes) and waistline. I’ve also invested in a couple of maternity bras that will convert later for nursing. It’s good to have those staples on hand so you don’t feel uncomfortable underneath your clothes.
What a week already! Loved getting to shop lots of Amazon Favorites this week for Prime Day Big Deals and looking forward to beginning my holiday season shopping. Have you already started rounding things up for Christmas? I’ll be curating a Holiday Shop this season so stay tuned for updates and make sure you are subscribed to my newsletter! You’ll be the first to know all the best deals and finds. Today I’m sharing a new brand I’ve been working with called Zesica! I have several pieces like this coral henley top, this adorable comfy oversized two-toned sweatshirt, and this striped sweater that is my favorite stripe sweater so far this season.
If you missed yesterday’s post, I rounded up a ton of my favorite fashion, home, and baby items. Today I wanted to narrow down the focus and share my must-have list and favorites I’ve ever bought on Amazon for you guys! Here are my top 10 Amazon Prime Big Deals.
Amazon Prime Day is finally here! I always bookmark tons of items so I can score big deals! This year I’ve rounded up a bunch of best sellers for you guys and some tried and true wardrobe pieces. It’s the perfect time to treat yourself or just grab a few things you’ve been dying to add to your closet for a while.
It’s cozy season and I’m here for it. Ever since I found out I was pregnant I’ve been shifting into the comfiest clothes for both day and night time! The Bump needs room and finding items that have an elastic waistband or extra room in the middle has been key for comfort. I rounded up three cozy looks for you to spruce up your loungewear and grab a nightie for those special occasion nights when you just want to feel a little more glam. First up is this beautiful green floral satin slip that could honestly be worn with a jacket, cardigan, and heels for a date night! The material is not thin or see-through so it’s really appropriate to wear in public or private. I love the neckline and adjustable straps. Next up, is this adorable waffle knit three-piece set and it’s just so soft. I love the weight of the robe and it mixes and matches with the floral slip beautifully! Finally, I grabbed this four-piece tank, shorts, pants, and one-shoulder top that is such a beautiful olive color. All three felt great to sleep in (not too hot or cold) and the quality was great given the price! You can shop all of them on my Amazon Storefront or on the LTK app! Which one is your favorite?
First and foremost, I wanted to begin by thanking all of you for your sweet comments and encouragement. Each DM and comment you leave has truly filled my heart and I’m so thankful for you. The past couple of months have been beautiful and have also been a little bit of a roller coaster. We found out very early on in July that we were pregnant and it was a true shock for both Marshall and I. We are in our late thirties (I am 38 years old) and I did not see this coming. You can read more about our pregnancy announcement in this post but I wanted to share more insights for what I’ve actually been going through. It wasn’t easy. This is now my second pregnancy (I have a beautiful 14-year-old daughter) and it has been drastically different than the first time around.
Fall is here officially and I thought it would be the perfect time to share a few basics you need for your closet right now! Right now the colors oatmeal, mocha, and mustard are in! As much as I love tons of color I also love to reach for the basics on days I want to feel cozy. A few things I recently added and love are this soft chenille oatmeal sweater, this mocha-colored sweater dress, a walnut faux leather skirt, an off-the-shoulder top, and a black long-sleeve basic tee! You can grab all of these items from Amazon and they are super affordable. I’ve had these tan boots and a Coach purse (an old one, but a newer version in the same color here) on repeat as my main accessories lately. Don’t forget to grab a hat to top it all off! You can shop all my favorites on my Amazon storefront or the LTK App here! Happy Shopping and I’d love to know which look is your favorite!
We’ve had a few waves of cool mornings here in Texas and I’m already dreaming of all the ways I can wear the cutest coats! Fall brings so many wonderful things from spicy pumpkin flavors to cozy sweaters. I love that I can start layering pieces! I figured I’d share a few styling tips and my favorite new ones I just got in with you in today’s post in hopes of inspiring you to grab a few new pieces for the season.
Fall is almost here and it’s boots season! I am so excited about all the options this season. If you’ve been following my Instagram lately, you’ll find tons of western boot styles including these black rhinestone booties and these knee-high silver ones! Every time I put either pair on I immediately feel like heading to a Taylor Swift concert. If you know… you know! I went ahead and rounded up a ton of options for you in all price points. I love pairing boots with short body con dresses like this striped one from Lillusory. It’s great for this time of year and you can throw a moto jacket on for an edgy look. Whether you are looking for glam boots or classic styles for work you’ll find everything you need below for a chic Fall update! Hope you enjoy and make sure you DM a pic when you put on a pair!
Nothing in my life has been a product of chance. God gives us free will to walk the Earth and if we make a decision it has consequences one way or another. On March 22, 2019 I kissed alcohol goodbye for forever. I was at a place in my life where I was lost, miserable and completely heartbroken. It was at least a year of turmoil or more and I was in deep depression. Some of my friends will tell you I was a wreck. Others will tell you that they just couldn’t figure out what was going on. All I knew is that no matter what, the alcohol had to go. At that exact same time, I was in a relationship with someone who regularly drank and partied. I knew that I was on a path to sobriety but I had no idea the things I would be giving up when I made that rock bottom choice. Including that relationship and many more as the years would pass by.
I’ve had so much fun getting this new series of 30 Days of Outfits started! I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. Today I’m sharing the sweetest little pink sweater (similar by the same company here) and a flirty short skirt from Amazon. Yesterday I shared a really classic Fall look and today I’m going with more girly vibes. This time of year the temperatures in Texas swing from freezing to hot and humid. We typically have milder cold weather months. I added accessories with gold hardware like this adorable pink purse and these neutral studded flats. Finally, I wore a pair of really sweet floral earrings sent over by my friends at Amavia. I love their pieces so much!
The thing is… sometimes we have to have emotional lows to get back to the highs. It’s a contrast. When we have to let go of something really big in life oftentimes we are left with an emptiness. That emptiness takes time to refill. So what can you do?
Happy Monday friends! What a whirlwind of a weekend. I spent so much of it getting a ton of downtime in. I hope you found ways to recharge, rest, and refill your cup. So many updates for you today! First, the Glow Up course launched last week and was a huge success! It’s a two-day course that will help you create a plan with achievable results in 30 days.
Hope you guys all had a lovely weekend! I’m wrapping the final touches on tomorrow’s GLOW UP course and the weekly newsletter, but wanted to pop in and share a few Amazon favorites. I hope you guys love the picks for this week and I can’t wait to see you in the program that launches tomorrow! Use code: EARLYBIRD888 for 25% off!
The past few months have been by the far the most transformative months in my life. I wrote a little about the past three years in my last post, but the past few months have grown in a new light. I reached a point where the universe gave me the opportunity to pair up with someone and grow with them. In the course of this healing process, I broke free from generational ties, and limiting beliefs and began doing exactly what I loved every single day. I believe that what we attract, we get. I believe that you can have the life of your dreams. I believe that the universe supports you when you give love. I believe that the greatest of all the gifts we receive is the power to go within. I also believe that you can have, be and do anything given enough time and resources.
Are you feeling stuck? I understand. I’ve been there several times throughout my life. Sometimes I was facing a blockage that needed to be cleared and other times I had resistance. I’ve found one thing to be true in both situations. If you feel stuck, time to work on yourself. Look to your daily habits, what you are feeding yourself and how much joy you are experiencing. The thing is, we all get off track sometimes. We all have dips and valleys in life. It’s what makes the high points so pleasurable. If you are lacking glow right now, here are five ways to get it back. PS - I recently shared these on Facebook in a quick video!
I’ve been on a conquest to get to the root of my being. For the past few months, I took time throughout each day for inward reflection… Constantly asking myself if what I am currently doing is what will lead me to the highest version of myself. I examined forward and backward each small habit, every conversation I would partake in, and each movement I would choose to make. We are a sum of all the little choices we make throughout the day. Our character is a combination of actions we choose. After years of feeling obligated to do certain things, have certain jobs, and run what you would consider the rat race I decided I couldn’t do it anymore. My soul just needed more.
Can you believe we are already halfway through Summer? Oh my goodness! Time flies. I shared a bunch of my favorite summer items for Amazon Prime Day in yesterday’s post. Today I decided it was time to round up a bunch of my back-to-school favorites and Fall items. I love the earthy colors, classic shapes, and workwear. You can even grab a couple of party dresses to have on hand. I also love mixing in things like scarves, cap toe mules, and teddy coats. Corduroy skirts and sweater dresses are must-haves for the early Fall chilly evenings! You can shop a ton of items at the bottom of this post along with ways I’ve styled each look!
I’ll be honest. I’ve been in mostly knits for the past 10 days. Ever since I made it back from my trip to Colorado, I’ve been a complete hermit. Yep, snuggled up on the couch with my dog and journal morning and night. It’s been incredible and much-needed. I’ve been working all year so far out of my house. Each evening doing little projects around the house and during the daytime working with clients. My uniform looks the equivalent of what I wore when I was in Amarillo which includes this incredible sweater that is the softest material ever and these snuggly pants. If there is one outfit you need in your life right now it’s this one. I’ve been wearing several pairs of sweater pants like these joggers, this pair of wide-legged and I’ve featured these several times on the blog over the years. They are a great alternative to sweat pants and you can lounge, walk or run errands in them.
The week between Christmas and NYE is one of the weirdest weeks of the year. Days seem to blur together and there’s an overarching tone of “let’s put it off till next year” happening in business. I took this as an opportunity to travel to some of the places I’ve had on my bucket list for a while. I drove from College Station to Abilene on Sunday stopping to catch the sunset before grabbing dinner and retiring for the evening. You can check out that post and I’m wearing one show-stopping dress in this post. After leaving Abilene I made my way up through Caprock Canyons and then onto Amarillo, Texas for a few days. This whole area of the Texas Panhandle is like nothing I’ve seen before. I don’t recall ever making it through Amarillo in the past but it’s definitely a world of its own. Surrounded by so much nature! Great place for spending time on Lake Meredith, or hiking one of the toughest trails in Texas on Palo Duro Canyon. Either way, if you are an outdoors person this place is for you!
This is now my third Christmas in a row of being sober. I can tell you that although my twenty-something self would have looked at me like I had two heads if I had told her she would be completely sober through a pandemic and into the year following a global shutdown. Yes, this person right here used to love her wine and champagne. Especially on a holiday. A few years ago I made the decision to stop drinking in hopes that my life would find purpose and I would stop having panic attacks. Both happened and here we are ordering mocktails instead of martinis. So little is really talked about in the drinking world outside of being either a drinker or someone who doesn’t. I love going to a good party. I also love fancy drinks. What I don’t love is alcohol. It just doesn’t agree with my anxiety and I feel like a happier human being without it. If you are also in the same boat and alcohol just doesn’t do it for you right now I’m here to tell you a few ways I still have fun without having a hangover.
This past year I’ve made it a goal to visit as many National and State Parks as possible. They house some of the most beautiful scenery! This season alone I visited Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, Padre Island National Sea Shore, Hot Springs National Forest, and Davy Crockett National Forest. It’s so refreshing to get away from most people and wander the trails of nature. I’ve been able to experience things you just don’t get in the city around people. From driving 50 miles off-road to getting lost in the Fall foliage National Parks are the way to go!
Sometimes I have to do a little reality check on myself. This week was one of those times. After a whirlwind of ten days of non-stop travel and then the joys of Thanksgiving I rolled right into this last week with fatigue. Not only fatigue, but my sister spent Friday getting a metal rod out of her leg in surgery. She had an injury five years ago and decided to get the hardware taken out this past week. I didn’t realize just how much all of these blessings would also add extra stressors into my life. I drove into Houston on Friday and let me tell you my anxiety was at an all-time high. Once I returned home I made a decision to do everything I could to clear my calendar for Saturday and just decompress. Anxiety never goes completely away, but I have managed these past few years to get it in a manageable state. I thought it would be wildly appropriate to share what I experience and how I cope with amounting pressure in hopes that it helps you, too.
Last weekend I made a trip to East Texas to check out the last of the beautiful Fall foliage that we have here in Texas before the gray of Winter sets in. I stopped at the sweetest little city in Sulphur Springs where I found the prettiest building which is their courthouse. It immediately made me feel like I was standing in front of a castle! Small town Texas is known for it’s beautiful architecture like this. So much European influence from Germany, France and Spain! Sulphur sits between East Texas and Dallas. If you get a chance to stop through there, I highly recommend it! So much boutique shopping and places to eat. There’s a beautiful park in the center of the town square you can stroll!
The past six months of my life have been emotionally challenging. Postpartum combined with several joyful life changes left me feeling like I had new roles to step into and the pressure was high. Right before my husband and I had our baby we made the decision to start a new business. From the outside it looked like I had it together, but the next few months would unveil a completely different side of me that I wasn’t prepared to deal with.
