Fall Capsule Wardrobe

Last week I did a massive closet cleaning. I decided to discard anything I haven’t worn in two years unless it was a special occasion worthy. It was so freeing to remove dead weight in my closet. I feel like my clothes can breathe again. After I finished discarding, I made a list of things to add to my closet. I’ve had more client and business meetings as of late and knew I needed to revamp my work wardrobe (see this post and this post). Building a capsule wardrobe for the season makes it easy to grab and go when you are in a hurry. I added cotton shirts like this one from Hill House Home and this one from Amazon. Then, a beautiful blazer is perfect for a meeting over coffee. Finally, adding some basics like dress shorts, a new pair of jeans, and don’t forget a few pairs of shoes.
Making sure you have a few accessories like these gold huggies and a few scarves. I love how versatile a scarf is - tie one on your purse or wear it as a headband. They also look adorable tied around your ponytail. A few simple purses with the structure are always a good option for the change of season. I’ve had three in rotation to include a white Tory Burch, black Michael Kors, and olive green Coach. I also like to swap out my watch band. I am currently wearing a simple white one (grab here for under $15). Accessories are like the icing on the cake. Whether it’s a cute headband or a new belt - accessories can make a huge difference in looking pulled together.
Last but not least, I do a quick inventory refresh for my makeup. Love switching up my routine at the turn of the season like refreshing my lipsticks (consistently wearing these two shades: Loaded and Powerful) which are on sale for 26% off this month when you bundle them with a new eye shadow palette. I love Addiction Palette 8 with gorgeous gold, yellow, sunset, and matte green shades. I also take a look at my skincare regimen to make sure my skin is getting everything it needs. Usually, around this time of year, I need more moisturizing and exfoliating so I restocked this Vitamin C serum and my Exfoliating Mask. Below you will find all of my favorite clothing picks in tons of affordable options so you can put together your own capsule wardrobe!
The past six months of my life have been emotionally challenging. Postpartum combined with several joyful life changes left me feeling like I had new roles to step into and the pressure was high. Right before my husband and I had our baby we made the decision to start a new business. From the outside it looked like I had it together, but the next few months would unveil a completely different side of me that I wasn’t prepared to deal with.
