A fall wedding is the most romantic invitation of the year: candlelit barns, Hill Country chapels, grand old hotels on the Gulf. Here's how to show up glowing without upstaging the bride.
My tips for fall wedding guests
Go jewel-toned, never white or ivory. Deep plum, sage, rust, and cobalt photograph beautifully in candlelight.
Read the venue, not just the invitation. A barn calls for a midi and a block heel; a historic hotel ballroom calls for silk and satin.
Choose fabrics with movement. Silk, satin, chiffon, and velvet catch the light on the dance floor and in photos.
If you have read your copy of NOTED yet, make sure you download one today! I have an entire section in there about Fall Wedding Guest Dresses and more style tips. The key to any formal or semi-formal event is to pick something that you feel elegant and comfortable in. I’m not a fan of dresses that won’t allow you to enjoy the feast with the couple you are celebrating. Curious, which one of these dresses would you like to wear to the next wedding you attend?
