From the Closet: The One Piece Swimsuit
Years ago I switched from bikinis and retro two-piece swimsuits to the one piece and now I consider them an essential in the closet. For years, I thought they were frumpy or reminded me of something someone would wear to a swim meet or diving competition. However, several brands started releasing beautiful pieces like JCrew, Marasyia and I began take a deeper dive (no pun intended) to try different styles. Fast forward to today where I now do not consider going on a trip without one. Especially, with a toddler. They double as bodysuits for evening resort wear and are so cute with a pair of jeans or a sarong.
I have found some styles are more flattering than others. I try to look for ones that have rouching across the bodice. This is so much more forgiving for us mommas. The other thing I think helps is to have a high cut leg. It elongates and keeps the suit from looking frumpy or old. Adjustable straps are key! They help you get just the right fit no matter what kind of frame you have. Below is a roundup of a few of my favorite styles.
