Between Us, Dear: The Brightest Lights Shine Into Dark Places

You may be wondering: WHY? Why would I have been entangled with a human who was capable of so much darkness? Why would God allow this relationship to exist? Why wasn’t I given a boyfriend or husband with a heart of purity? I have found that God will assign some of us to shed light on dark places. It doesn’t mean you are being punished. You are being called. Called to stand firm in peace. Called to put on your shield of salvation and helmet of faith. You are called to shine the glory of the Lord into dark hearts.

The bible talks about how God will reveal himself to everyone in time. But not all will choose to follow. Not all will choose to turn their hearts over to the Lord out of obedience. Some hearts will continue to produce bad fruit because they are a bad tree. But you, my dear, you are sometimes called to shed God’s light on those dark trees. So don’t give up if the outcome looks different than you imagined. You are not a failure. You are a light of the world. You are strengthened through Jesus, and as you walk in His glory and light, you will face many trials and go through many sufferings. It’s okay. He’s going to walk through the fires with you.

And each fire will refine you and make your heart even purer. Each trial will result in dependence on his love and sovereignty. In the end, you will look back and see why you had to walk through the trials with him, why you had to go through the tough moments and what he was placing inside of you the entire time. Even if it feels like it’s too much or never-ending, lean on Ecclesiastes 3 and know there is a season for everything. Your season will change. Continue to cling to love, hope, and faith.

I’m so proud of you.
