Sunny Sundress

Dress: Bailey Blue // Pumps and Sunnies: Jessica Simpson // Satchel: Michael Kors

Spring is just around the corner and with temperatures in the 70's, I'm using it as an excuse to bring out my summer dresses. Dresses are probably my go to when it comes to effortless style. I have more dresses than bottoms and tops combined! I love them because I can easily change into flats or heels and just run out the door. They really take little thinking to get a look that's pulled together.

Another reason you will continue to see so many dresses on the blog, is that it's so hot here in Houston for so long. I've found that although the temperatures are always in fluctuation, dresses (made of cotton and looser fitted) are more comfortable in the humidity. This particular style is one of my favorites - it has a fit and flare shape that goes almost to the knees. I like the longer hemline so I can easily move and sit criss-cross style without showing my underwear.

I really love how lady like a belted sundress looks. Although I usually wear such dresses with sandals, today I went for a "church" appropriate outfit. I remember as a child my Mom would always have us "dressed up" every Sunday. I absolutely jumped at the chance, my little sister however - couldn't wait to tear off her tights and get into play clothes. Although my sister and I were pretty much opposites growing up, we are still dear friends and I love her to death.

A simple pair of white pumps are the perfect pairing with this dress. I don't think every outfit that you wear has to take a lot of effort or require much thinking. That's really the beauty of a dress - it's simple. You just add accessories and go. Lately, I've been wearing my hair in loose curls. I really love this shampoo and conditioner to bring back dry hair to health. I also love this mousse and have used it for years. It holds my waves without making my hair goopy.
