No. 4: Fast Forward Friday

So today's Fast Forward Friday is being pulled from a sweater I wore just a few weeks ago. Sometimes reworking items can help you get extra mileage out of new purchases. For the previous look I wore a sweater over a pink dress for a skirt look. I added cap toe shoes and a structured pink bag. Now fast forward to this post - I decided to head into the office for a casual Friday look with skinny jeans, loafers and a gray satchel. By the way, you can check out FFF series for post one, two and three.

One of the things I love about my new job is the ability to wear jeans on Friday. When you are wearing jeans for a professional look, it's important to make sure they are office appropriate. A lot of the way an outfit works for the office has to do with the texture, wash and what they are paired with. I like to add a sweater or a collared shirt with a blazer.

Also, adding tassel shoes or a bag with a handle can look more sophisticated. One of the things I really like about this bag is that it has the ability to wear a longer strap or carry by the handles. I actually have it in both gray and black. The gray version has beautiful rose gold detailing. It's out of season now, but I found two other options for similar price points below in the shop section and both have tassels just like my shoes!

In my original post for the sweater, I decided to take a very youthful look which was almost school girl. Cap toe pumps, a bow embellished bag and pink details made this sweater take on a completely different look. You can read more about the original outfit from a few weeks ago here. If you notice, one of my favorite ways to switch up an item is to make it feminine if the last time I wore it had a more androgynous or masculine feel. If I wore a girly look, I'll change it up and make it more masculine. It's all about remixing to get the most value out of what you buy!
