How to: NYE Makeup

Wow! I can't believe it's almost 2016! Unbelievable year has gone by in such a whirlwind. Well, as we approach the last few days before NYE, I decided to build off the DIY Mani tutorial video I posted yesterday and show you guys a simple look for NYE. I've been a subscriber to both Birchbox and Ipsy for the past year. Subscription boxes are a great way to try out new products without having to make a huge commitment. Each box is $10 a month and let's you try a multitude of products.  Several of the items above are from those boxes/bags.

Over the past few months I've really grown to love Bareminerals Foundation. I tend to have very reactive skin, and their formula works well with my texture. After speaking with a few friends and family, it's not the product that works best if you have oily skin or large pores.  However, for those of us on the drier or more sensitive side of things, it proves to be my go to for every day makeup.

I started by brushing bronzer just below my cheek bones and finishing with a soft powder. I like using both bareMinerals and Tarte collections for their powder since they give a nice smooth finish and help blend the bronzer.

Being that I have very sensitive eyes, I've come to love bareMinerals Lash Domination! Seriously separates and stays on most of the day. I also have tried a few others like Smashbox Full Exposure (last seen in this post) for a dramatic effect. Chanel Inimitable is phenomenal too!

For my lip, I prefer to use a lip crayon and then finish with a gloss. Since I was creating a more doe-eyed look for NYE... I thought I would keep my lips with minimal color and let my lashes play center stage. All in all, it's a simple and easy to do look that will last for hours into the night and matches most outfits. You can easily put all items in your clutch for touch ups and I bet you get some major compliments on your lashes.

I curated a few options below for you to look at if you would like similar items. They are all items you can pick up online or at your nearest department store. Stay tuned for Wednesday where I'll show off a soft winter white look for the evening!
