No. 2: Fast Forward Friday
Here is No. 2 of my new Friday's Series call "Fast Forward Friday". I thought this would be a fun idea since so often we all see images on Friday's with flashbacks. To check out the first of this series - click here. Basically, on these posts I'll be flashing back to a key item I've worn again and again - then, fast forward to today where you can see how I've updated it with this season's accessories or even found new ways to wear it. Basically, it's a way to showcase two looks with one item.
Today's post is pretty fun. I bought this dress from one of my most frequently shopped stores (more out of convenience than anything) - TARGET. I know, not the most posh place, but I love going there. Maybe it's the neatly organized shelves or halogen lighting, but it gets me every time. I find myself frequenting the clearance rack almost every time I visit.
So let's get down to the dress. This dress was worn back in the Spring of 2014 in this post here. Back then I paired it with basic black pointy flats, my favorite classic Kate Spade purse, and a simple black felt hat. Now, we fast forward to today. Since scarves are all the rage this season, I thought it would be perfect to try something new. I love the bright blue of the dress and how slimming the piping is. It really contours into an hourglass shape. Since the scarf has a black and white design - I wore a big black Ted Baker shopper (talked about here, here and here since I love it so much!) with a white bow.
I did decide to wear this ensemble to the office, so a good pair of heels were a must for the day. Both looks veer on the side of a simple and classic, but have completely different feels. Almost a masculine vs. feminine approach! What do you think?
Dress: Target (old) // Bag: Ted Baker // Shoes: Charles by Charles David // Scarf: Vintage
