Mixing prints can be a little bit of a challenge. I used to steer clear from most prints up until a couple of years ago. I felt for a long time they overwhelmed my frame. After following bloggers like Blair Eadie from Atlantic Pacific and Krystal Bick from This Time Tomorrow I realized that I could do prints too. I started out small with a leopard scarf or a floral dress and worked my way to getting more creative.

Recently I've also ventured out into new hat shapes like a beret (you can also see a few other beret looks in this previous post). I really like the classic red this one comes in and the way it ties the whole look together. Adding a few feminine touches like a bow bag (I've featured a few below of all different price ranges starting at $29) and velvet flats finished off the ensemble.

Here are a few tips for mixing your prints. Stick to a consistent color scheme or a print scheme. Here the black, white and red make it where the patterns aren't overpowering. On the other hand if you want to mix colors stick a print scheme like stripes or plaids. Then, you can play around with color. What are some of your favorite prints to mix?
