Shades of Blue

Blue has been on my mind lately. Ever since I was little, I loved the color blue. Over the years, I’ve gravitated to different shades from cobalt to navy, but it seems like I just keep coming back to the softer shades of powder baby blue. Recently, I’ve been wearing it more and more from scalloped ballet flats to skirts (like this post) and it’s bleeding into dresses. I’ve even recently worn a pale blue romper. Here and here I've worn an off the shoulder top with jeans and overalls.

I’ve rounded up a combination today of some of my favorite soft blue looks and some shop-able items. Blue is paired really nicely with softer shades of blush and nude. It also works great with pops of yellow. White seems to be a perfect neutral and really adds a little pop against pastels. Finally, a warm shade of cognac brown leather is always a win with baby blue. Remember, orange browns sit directly across blue on the color wheel so it contrasts nicely!

Last year I wore gingham in many different shades of blue (light blue gingham shirt, gingham dressesthis one and this one and gingham shorts), but this year it looks like stripes are bleeding into my closet. I love the look of a long skirt paired with a simple shell. I also like this bow backed dress which could be paired with skinny jeans as a tunic. A striped button up always is a classic and I love this lightweight one I wore in this Daily Dose post. It’s long enough to knot and wear with jeans, shorts or a skirt. What are some of your favorite baby blue outfits? Link it below and I’ll take a look!
