All About Healthy Hair

Obtaining healthy hair can be such a challenge. We all want to have good hair days! But it can be difficult to make that consistently happen. About two years ago I made a huge change in my lifestyle. I switched to more of a plant based diet, drank way more water and started regularly exercising. I attribute the health of my hair to those choices. Your body is a result of what you put in it and hair loss can be due to stress, poor nutrition and lack of exercise. When your body functions as a healthy eco-system it reacts better. The first step in obtaining better nails, skin and weight is to eat a vitamin rich diet and stay active.

I've fought with the humidity of Houston for a while now and decided for my hair type - which is thick, heavy, slightly wavy but still soft, less is really more. I shampoo every 2-3 days to keep my hair from being stripped of oils and use a wide tooth comb. I love Garnier's Honey Treasures shampoo, conditioner and deep conditioner. I try to deep condition twice a week since my hair is on the drier side.

When I wear my hair in soft waves, I use Pantene's BB Cream and Fekkais' PRX oil. I use this curling wand (under $35) and set it for the highest temperature. I put the BB cream on first after air drying my hair, and then curl and add the oil to the ends afterwards. For the days I wear my hair straight, I usually use the same products but switch to a flat iron.
