No. 1: Fast Forward Friday

I'm beginning a new seriers on Fridays where I show you an item I wore in a previous post - and then fast forward to today. I think it's important to make sure when you buy something, to wear it over time. Part of that concept was ingrained in me during my interior design schooling around sustainability. It's better for the environment and your budget!

I wore this dress almost the same time last fall with a pair of pointy toe flats and a bright yellow purse. My hair was in loose waves and the look was a bit edgy-er. A quick change of shoes and a purse - along with a hair do, makes such a difference. I've really been pushing to think more about the styling of my hair and whether or not it "fits" a look.

For this post, I did a ballerina bun and secured a small black bow at the top of the knot. Ballerina buns are really easy to do, the key is to have a ton of hairspray. I love using the spray kind by Aussie. I find that it has really good hold and lasts all day. The other important thing to think about when you do your hair in a bun is make sure you have lots of bobby pins on hand. The higher up on your head, the less of a headache I get. Finally, as with any updo - make sure you didn't just wash your hair. This is day 3 for me (my hair is on the drier side since it's curly). IfI try to put it up right after I wash it, I spend all day fidgeting with my locks.
