Simple Christmas Style
Jacket: Gap // Shoes: Jessica Simpson // Pants: Target // Top: Who What Wear // Bag: Street Level
It's finally December and I'm excited about all of the decorations going up. Last weekend I spent a time unpacking my ornaments and getting organized for the holidays. It's sort of been my tradition to have my home decorated by the first weekend of December and buy all of my Christmas presents by the middle of the month. It diminishes stress gives me time to relax with family and friends the rest of the month. We are heading to pick up our Christmas tree despite the horrendous rain forecast and finishing the final touches on our place. One of my favorite traditions is to drive around looking at everyone's decorations! You can find new ideas for inspiration to decorate your own home.
Are you heading to a dinner party during the weeks leading up to Christmas? Simple two-toned pants and a black top makes for a streamlined outfit. I love this pair I bought a few years back at Target (yep, I know, I can't seem to get enough). This top from the Who What Wear collection is a nice day to night shirt that is super lightweight and works with a great pair of earrings or swipe of red lipstick. If you wanted to wear this to work you can throw on a pair of loafers (see here) or ballet flats and then switch them out for a pair of heels in the evening.
Since it's December, I've pulled out my hunter green coat for as many occasions as possible. I recently wore it here with a pair of simple nude heels and plaid dress, but it looks great with pants too! Belted coats are a flattering shape for most body types since they cinch the waist and create an hourglass figure. The work great for people who are on the petite side to give an illusion of height and balanced proportion. I topped it all off with a simple green leather tote for my workday and will switch it out for a clutch for an evening event.
