Blush Sparkle

One of my favorite thing about the holidays is that you can wear all the fancy items like sequins, velvet and lace in abundance. Although over dressing is a routine habit of mine, I find even more occasions from Thanksgiving to New Year’s to sport all sorts of sparkle. It's fun to wear things day or night with a little festive flair.
You do not have to wear traditional bright red or green for holiday parties. Metallic colors such as gold, silver or a soft rose color are really great alternative options. Adding a soft blush crew neck sweater (recently worn here) and a pair of neutral pumps (last seen here with this green coat) makes for a monochromatic ensemble. Because the pants are such a statement piece, letting them take center stage is really the best option. You don’t want to go overboard on a flashy top and flashy bottoms. Sequin pants are actually really comfortable since they are usually lined with something soft. It almost feels like I’m wearing sweat pants (Shhh! Don’t tell!)
For the accessories, I pulled out one of my favorite pink purse (with a delicate rose gold bow). I also added a pair of vintage gold statement earring and rose cocktail ring (similar to these). Another option would be to add a pair of bow earring or something with baubles (like this pair). I’m going to share a few more looks with sequins on the blog to share ways you can add a little glam without looking tacky, so check back for more ideas over the next week or two!
