Houston Hotspots: Towne Lake Boardwalk

Dress: Erin Fetherston for Target. Shoes: Qupid (last seen here, similar here). Tote: Ted Baker (love this floral version and this mint one). Hat: Target. Sunnies: Circus by Sam Edelman.

Houston always has a new area that's "up and coming." Sometimes, those areas are in old run down parts of the city, while other times it's on the outskirts or out in the suburbs. Right now, there are a few places that keep drawing me closer and closer to visit on the weekends to include EADO (which is East of Downtown for all you non-Houstonians) and Cypress' Towne Lake. Towne Lake is a master community still in the process of being built right now. Lately they've been working on getting the final shops, restaurants and fitness places up and running on the Boardwalk. I spent last weekend touring around the new parts of the property that either just opened or is getting ready to open. This little town square has everything from a medical center to Pure Barre.

I moved out to the Cypress are last Fall and have to say, I really love being there. It's not over crowded and on the edge of farm land where you get tall pine trees, winding roads with cattle ranches and still can get to Kate Spade in 15 minutes. There's an outlet mall two exits from where I live and some of the largest grocery stores around. In fact, it's enough of it's own community that I don't have to drive into the city if I don't want to for shopping purposes.

The Boardwalk also features an area to pull up to by boat or park a vehicle which really makes it have a different feel from Katy and even The Woodlands. The residential community boasts of giving lake tours if you want to buy a home in the area and the residents can just pull right up and park without even setting foot into their car.

For this afternoon I went in a sort of relaxed, but feminine outfit. This dress is a long time favorite, but I've linked similar here and here. I wore it with simple leather flat sandals, a boater hat and carried my favorite tote (also have it in this color and this color). I like dressing down fancier dresses with more casual pieces to get more mileage out of what I own! Plus, it's important to be comfy on the weekends so you can sit back, relax and just enjoy the breeze on your face.
