Snow Day
I have to tell you, I never thought I'd see the day where Houston is snowed in twice in one Winter. This week we actually had several of the freeways shut down. Most schools were closed two days in a row and everyone I work with stayed home to work remotely. It was nuts. It hasn't been this cold in a long time. It was funny my dad took a business trip up to Utah recently and it was warmer there than it was here by almost twenty degrees!
It's definitely helped me prep for my upcoming trip to New England. I can't wait to share some of the trip with you guys! I am covering four states over the weekend and am staying at the cutest inns converted from old farmhouses. Two of the places date back to the 1700's! As much as I am excited Spring is around the corner I really do love to see snow! Three of the states I'm going to I've never visited so excited is an understatement.
I am actually bringing these snuggly boots with me on the trip. They are so warm and waterproof! I bought them last year before a trip up to Boston and then sported them in Rhode Island two weeks later. Since I typically pack in only a carry on I've had to really limit the number of shoes I'm bringing. I narrowed it down to four pairs: these heels, these rain boots, this pair of over the knee boots and the ones in today's post.
I've been wearing this pale blue coat frequently this season. Usually I've paired it with soft colors but today I opted for my vegan leather pants and this wool scarf I bought ten years ago from Banana Republic. It's so warm and cozy. I've found that scarves and hats make a huge difference on how warm I stay. I even went on an hour walk that evening and stayed really warm.
