Finding Joy After Pain
Lately a lot of what I have held in my heart is about pain. I know that we all experience it. Life comes with pain. There are unexpected transitions and tough things. There is loss, grief, betrayal, mistrust, and so many fears its unbelievable. If you are someone who experiences panic, then you know how hard life can get. There is joy though.
The bible talks alot about suffereing. So does Buddha, Tibetan Book of the Dead and many more spiritual teachings. Suffering just exists and that suffering leads to joy or collapse. Sometimes it’s in the collapse that the joy is unveiled. I believe God put each of us on Earth to shed light in some way. Many will choose dark paths like adultery, addiction, crippling fear, promiscuity, abuse and the list goes on… Not everyone chooses the light. Some think they don’t deserve it. Others don’t believe the light is truth. But God says, “Let there be light.” God is the light and to know the light you have to have the dark.
So find your joy. Start with small things. Feel the little glimmers until they build up a state of joy. It feels hard at first. Of course it does. You’ll wonder why… Why do I feel down? You can’t go up without being down. You can’t ascend to the next level in life without being the level below. So emerge now - you are free.
