How to: Layering a Button Up

I swear our weather is bi-polar here in Texas. I spent the weekend getting some much needed R&R in. My wardrobe reflected exactly that. On Saturday I wore this black, white and red combination - but Sunday I switched to a more Spring like outfit since we had a beautiful clear afternoon. Filled with blue skies and perfect picnic temperatures. I thought I would share both in a single post.

Something changed over the past year and I started wearing more casual stuff. I think it's because I now spend so much time outdoors, where I used to spend time inside business meetings and boardrooms. Now I revel in the fact that I am so lucky to live somewhere there is tolerable days most of the year. I am taking advantage of it.

For Saturday, I wore a pair of skinny black jeans and layered a black and white pinstripe button up underneath a simple red sweater. A pair of comfy boots, hat and down-filled jacket was perfect for the chilly morning. I love my down filled jacket. I never get too hot or too cold in it! I picked this one up for a ski and snow trip to South Lake Tahoe, but found more options below. I like that it has a detachable hoodie.
