Rice Farm
Sweater: LC Lauren Conrad (no longer available - but this one is almost identical) // Jeans: Celebrity Pink // Boots: Lolli Couture (Hunter version here) // Sunnies: Similar here.
Although I am quite the city girl, I find something really peaceful about getting away from it all and staying out in the country. In fact, after living for years in the heart of Houston, I packed up and moved out to Cypress. I had no idea when I moved there I would find the countryside so soothing. Now I constantly seek the quite solitude of ranches, farms and fields of grass. These photographs were actually in the middle of Houston at one of the old Rice Farms. But this looks is one you will find me in on the weekends in the country.
I love soft cozy sweaters and this lilac (also really like this one, this one and this one) is one of my favorites. It has a simple bow along the neckline and covered with these tiny bow details on the front. I decided to juxtapose it with a pair of distressed jeans and my go to nude rain boots. These boots have gotten more wear and tear over the past few seasons - I'm probably going to have to invest in another pair if I keep this up!
Dressing comfortable can still be chic if you work it right. Feminine details or a fun pair of sunnies can really compliment an otherwise simple ensemble. I also really love to play with updos. The halo braid (you can see a tutorial on how to do one for yourself here), is one of the easiest looks I do on a regular basis. I love it because it doesn't give me headaches like a ponytail tends to do (my hair is really thick and heavy) and stays up all day.
