Garden Party

Top: LC Lauren Conrad (another bow top here under $35) // Skirt: Erin Fetherston (similar here) // Bag: BCBG Paris // Shoes: Vince Camuto (similar here and here) // Sunnies: Vintage (identical here)

I've been updating my accessories to match the season. Recently I found the cutest pair of black vintage sunnies and these adorable wedges showcased above. I love adding simple accessories to spruce up things I already own. A lot of fashion bloggers I follow are constantly showcasing brand new outfits. Although that world be a great in a dream world, in my life that's not practical or even possible. However, what is possible is for me to set aside a specific amount for my budget and shop deals to add practical pieces into my closet.

A pair of neutral wedges are a perfect shoe for Spring and Summer. If you find a pair that's comfortable enough, they are great for travel and still look really chic in place of a pair of heels. I usually wear through a pair every summer because I walk so much in them. Although I love a good deal, if a shoe can't be walked in - it gets very little usage in my wardrobe. I love how this color really elongates my short legs.

Another accessory that is more of a necessity than a wishlist item, are sunglasses. It gets bright here in Houston and we drive everywhere. Because of that, it's important to find pairs that fit. Lately, I've really been into pushing myself to wear different looks from acetate to vintage frames - trying new things keeps my closet from looking stale. If you want to try out a new look, but aren't sure if you want to invest alot for fear you may now like it long term, start with a bag, scarf, or other accessory!
