Whimsy

Top: Target // Jeans: SoCal // Shoes: LC Lauren Conrad // Bag: French Connection

I stopped in Brenham, TX last weekend as I was on my way to visit one of my friends. If you haven't been through there, it's a really artistic town. I grabbed a quick cup of coffee over at Mobius Coffee House and then strolled around the town square for a few minutes during golden hour. Life gets going so fast sometime, I find it's necessary for me to take breaks. Walking breaks at lunchtime, coffee or tea breaks during my travels, or just a mental vacation to dream about somewhere I'd like to be. We rush so much in life... I can't do it anymore. I need the moments to breathe.

My eyes are constantly on the hunt for little nooks and crannies with charm. I found this flowering bush as I turned a corner and stopped in my tracks. The soft purple-blue of the blooms had such a striking beauty to them. I couldn't help leaning against the wall and feeling the warm summer breeze blow gently across my face.

I wore this sheer off the shoulder top over my white skinny jeans. The sleeves have just enough ruffle without being too dramatic. I added a pair of simple sandals with a bit of a heel since I knew I'd be having dinner out with my friend later that night. I've worn this top previously with my favorite pair of DIY Cut Off Shorts and simple leather slides (last worn here and here). Off-the-shoulder tops have such a romantic and whimsical feel to them. I've worn a few dresses and tops over the past few months with that same flair here, here and here
