Ballet Tulle
Skirt: Target (almost identical here) // Top: Who What Wear // Shoes: Target x Aldo // Bag: BCBG Paris
I mentioned earlier this week in Daily Dose of Style how I grew up taking dance lessons. Ballet heavily influences my taste in fashion. From the soft colors of a light pink almost nude shade to the texture of tulle skirts. I've worn this skirt on numerous occasions (see this post, this one, this one and this one). When I first picked it out, I had no idea I would keep finding new ways to rotate it around. Here we are a year later and it's almost a neutral item in my closet. Today I decided to pull out this tiered shirt (last seen in this post) and a simple pair of velvet mary jane flats.
Lately I've also been switching up my hairstyle. I recently had it cut by someone new and they layered it where it makes it easy to wear it straight. I also picked up a new flat iron which is under $30 and works like a charm. I use this BB cream and this oil to keep it protected and healthy. My hair is incredibly thick, so the right cut can make a huge difference in whether or not I have a "good" or "bad" hair day. I've also been using this shampoo and conditioner which has the most heavenly smell and leaves my hair really smooth. Most of the items are found at your local drugstore or grocery store! Today I pulled my hair into a sleek low ponytail and added a scarf tied like a bow. It's a really easy hairstyle to pull together and still look polished.
As Spring is quickly approaching the dogwood trees and azalea bushes are starting to bloom. If you are a local Houstonian or visiting over the next month check out Bayou Bend Collections and Garden for the prettiest flowers. I posted about it here last year, but plan on making another stop by at some point over the next few weeks. Azaleas are such beautiful plants and they bloom all over Houston and up into the northern metropolitan part of this area. Hope you guys have a wonderful weekend and I'd love to hear about other blooming spots around Houston if you have any suggestions! (Leave a comment or tweet me!)
