Sundays at the Market
Top: LC Lauren Conrad (similar here) // Overalls: Machine Denim // Boots: Lolli Couture // Scarf: Vintage Heirloom (love this one from Kate Spade) // Tote: Mudpie
I've posted a few times about how much I enjoy taking trips to the farmer's market (here and here). You can buy an array of fresh produce for a fraction of the cost at a grocery store. I oftentimes try to stop by in Hempstead at Dilorio's on my drive from Houston to College Station. It's a great almost halfway point and I usually grab a sparkling water for a refreshment when I'm done with my produce purchasing. Sundays are usually reserved (when I'm not traveling) for rest, relaxing and getting things organized for the week. Making sure I have healthy food options is the first point in being prepared for a good week of eating. It allows me to easily whip up a few things by Monday night for the week ahead.
I wore these overalls earlier this month here and another pair on the Daily Dose Feed here. Overalls have been my jam for the past few weeks. They are comfortable, easy to mix and match with a variety of my current tops and cute. It took me a while to find a pair I really liked (you can read more about that here), but once you do... the possibilities are endless. Today I paired them with this top (worn a while back here) and a pair of rain boots. It's been really rainy lately and so I've been gearing up with my umbrella stocked in the car at all times. I wore these boots earlier in the weekend with a skirt and sweater here in this post and cut off shorts here.
A Few Ways to Wear a Scarf
I've been wearing a variety of scarves lately including the one featured in this post. It was my grandmother's and I decided to pull my hair back and tie it in a square knot. This is a really easy hairstyle. You start by parting your hair to the side and then twisting from the top down, pulling a little more hair into the twist as you work your way to the base of your neck. Finish it off with a clear ponytail holder and then add the scarf. I used a sailor's square knot to hold it in place.
Whenever I go shopping at the farmer's market I try to bring a big bag to tote all of my goodies home. I picked this one up last year at the Bluebonnet Festival (see all about the festival in this post). It's coming up in April in Chappell Hill, Texas. I love the "Hey Y'all" slogan on it! It's made out of burlap and has proven to be a fantastic choice for going to the beach or even as an overnight bag.
