Flower Child

If there's one thing I photograph every single day, it's flowers. I can't go by one that takes my breath away and just walk by. I have to stop dead in my tracks and take a picture. Texas is really beautiful for wildflowers. From about February through October, some sort of flower is blooming along the highway and in cattle fields. It starts with sprigs of red indian paintbrush and bluebonnets, then comes waves of little yellow and pink flowers. As Spring ends sunflowers begin to bloom and you can find fields of them. Living in this part of the state is such a blessing.

White Oak Bayou Trail is one of the loveliest little parts of the city inside the 610 loop. There is a huge renovation project for TC Jester road in the works right now where hiking and biking trails are being developed. So much of it is already finished. You can basically start all the way from Tidwell/TC Jester and ride your bike all the way to downtown Houston. White Oak Bayou has a ton of blooms right now including red poppies and beautiful yellow sunflowers. If you are out this weekend and are looking for a good trail, I recommend hopping on it!

A tunic dress is such a laid back look for the weekend. I wore a blue and white one as a top in this Daily Look earlier this week and decided to pull out this poppy red one to grab a cup of coffee last weekend. It almost feels like I'm wearing pajamas. I'll carry this through the Summer as a swimsuit cover up or with white pumps for a dressier look for dinner. I wore a pair of white slides and a white cross body to keep it simple. Then, topped it all off with a swipe of red lipstick.
