Depression is heavy. If you’ve ever experienced a weight that won’t lift for days or weeks or months… it’s likely depression. Depression isn’t just laying on the couch all day. Depression can look like struggling to get dressed or rising out of bed with pep. Depression can be a lack of appetite or an increase in appetite. Depression can be a heavy headache that refuses to go away for a long period of time. Depression can look like overreacting to something small. Depression can also be making mountains out of molehills.
The thing is… sometimes we have to have emotional lows to get back to the highs. It’s a contrast. When we have to let go of something really big in life oftentimes we are left with an emptiness. That emptiness takes time to refill. So what can you do?
Get sunlight
Increase your Vitamin D
Increase your heart rate for 20 min
Snuggle
Feed yourself fresh fruits, veggies, and smoothies
Wash your face and get dressed
You can get back to YOU. Celebrate each thing you accomplish (including taking out the trash or doing dishes). Even getting dressed is a HUGE accomplishment when you feel down and low!! Just go do it! Baby step your way through it.
You will RISE again!
