Don’t Follow Beauty Tips, They Only Make You Feel Ugly
True beauty isn’t Botox or makeup. It isn’t hair extensions or boob jobs. It doesn’t include liposuction or plastic surgery. It’s not the newest outfit, latest trend of how to curl your hair, or expensive handbag. Those things are fleeting.
Beauty comes from a radiance within and no amount of beauty tips will solve that inner issue. Understanding that God created you in his image and being able to pull back the layers for why someone wants to put toxic chemicals on and in their body explains the pain they feel inside.
After being a part of the beauty industry and modeling, I grew to feel less and less whole as time went by. The cost of keeping up with what our “world “ deems beautiful wore on me. I struggled being able to feel good about myself the more I spent time on social media. That was never who I was inside. But the more time I spent on platforms surrounded by “influencers” the more of my own energy I gave away.
Who cares if you have perfect eyebrows if you are self-absorbed? Who cares if you know how to beat the algorithm if you only promote consumerism and superficiality? Who cares how great your home is or how big it is if you are drowning in the shame of your past? The longer I stayed a part of it, the less I actually felt beautiful.
Instead, focus on the heart. Dig deep into your soul. Disconnect from all of it so you can hear God’s calling in life. Stop resisting your destiny.
