Amazon Summer Dresses Galore

Wanted to give you guys something new this week and a round of Amazon dresses was long overdue! When it’s hot outside I reach for flowy dresses instead of tight-fitting clothes. It’s so humid here in College Station that I need a break from feeling like my clothes are stuck to my skin! Today I’m sharing a few of my absolute favorite pieces from this season. You can shop all of them on my Amazon Storefront here.

Winter and Spring Amazon Finds Under $100

A few items I wear year-round include a trenchcoat, swing dress, good pair of flats, and sunglasses. My coat is actually from Everlane (also available for purchase on Amazon - here’s an under $100 version), and my flats were under $100 as well. Most days you’ll find me in a pair of aviators or Ray-Ban sunglasses but I keep a few inexpensive pairs within reach in my car as backup. A simple swing dress is great this time of year. You can swap the trench coat out for a warmer one on a cold day and a pair of boots with the dress above. Another option is to layer tights and loafers on chilly mornings with this look. When you get home, it can double as loungewear since it’s so comfortable and easy to move around in. I’ve fallen asleep many evenings in this same dress!

Snow and Ski Style in Colorado

Over New Year’s Eve, I took a quick weekend trip to Colorado Springs, CO. It was beautiful and right before a huge snowstorm. I’ll be sharing more about that experience in an upcoming post! Although the city itself was not snow-covered until the end of my trip, I did go up into the mountains and needed the right gear to withstand the slopes. Whether you are a ski fanatic looking for a few updates to your winter wardrobe, a snow bunny who just loves the scenery and a good hot tub, or maybe you are looking to just keep warm - here’s a guide to dressing warm and layering snow and ski style!

The Best Holiday Gifts from Amazon

It’s no secret that I love Amazon. From their incredibly streamlined delivery and return policy to the quality of the Amazon the Drop collections that highlight influencers, time and time again I am impressed by what they have created in the retail space. To think that they single-handedly changed the book and printing industry! I’m overjoyed day after day with my Audible subscription, endless tv options on Amazon Prime, and getting packages regularly that have that little smile icon on them. With all of the amazing sales and deals happening I had to share my favorite Amazon finds. I’m dating things back over the past year with each item being something I’ve either used, purchased for someone else, or currently have on my own wish list.

Amazon Try On Haul

This season I’ve focused on building a new work wardrobe and picked up items that could easily transition from work to play. I love wearing cotton tops underneath a cute blazer during this time of year. Makes it easy to remove the jacket for lunch or dinner after a meeting. Pair with cap toe mules (which I grabbed in beige and brown below) for a polished look. A scarf immediately makes any outfit look pulled together. I love to tie around my bag of choice for the day. Lately, I’ve added more green into my wardrobe. I love the midi skirt below - really lightweight and looks great with over-the-knee boots and a sweater. This shirt dress was an amazing find. I’ve worn with and without a belt. It’s so comfy and great for work or play. Lastly, I added three new cardigans in brown, black, and this super-soft white one with a pretty collar. No matter what the occasion, all of the times listed below are ones I’ve purchased and love wearing!

You Can Never Go Wrong with a Little Black Dress

Let me tell you whenever you are in doubt, pull out a little black dress. It will always work! I went out with a few friends on Friday night to Elixir in the La Salle Hotel in Downtown Historic Bryan for drinks (mine choice a virgin Moscow mule) and dinner. I decided to pull out this dress and pair it with punch brights instead of going with my usual color palette. You just can’t go wrong with a little black dress and I love this one under $30! It’s the perfect length to still look flirty without being frumpy. It’s super soft and lightweight for our warm evenings. I grabbed a pair of high heels and my favorite hot pink purse adding on a swipe of matte pink lipstick and dangly earrings. I love this dress so much I grabbed it in a burnt orange you can see in this post! Below is a round-up of some of my favorite picks for little black dresses.

One Year of Being Single

As I approach the one year mark of being single I realize how important this past year has been in regards to my personal growth. I am pretty sure this was the most significant jump in my entire life. After a huge breakup this time last year I decided before I spent any amount of time seeking a new relationship or even dating much for that matter, I would take time to unpeel the layers of my life and figure out why and how I got to where I was. My last relationship was pretty rough especially towards the end. We were going in significantly different directions and shared minimal life values. It was hard to break up but I knew at the time there was no other choice if I wanted to grow in my own life. I shared in a previous blog post - how to handle a major break up and more about my outlook in the post title how to be single over the holidays. Fast forward to this month where it officially ended a year ago. Here are my own reflections about how life improved, what changed in my perspective and some tips for growth in your own life.
