Pink Plaid
TGIF! I am really excited about the weekend finally approaching. Have I mentioned how much I love Fall? This weekend is going to be filled with pumpkins, farms and all sorts of autumn harvest activities. Also, I am planning on completing a new DIY project by making a fall floral skirt like this one I found to purchase. DIY projects are so much fun and there are tons of tutorials on the web that really simplify things. One of my favorite sites is A Pair and A Spare. The tutorials are so easy and usually can be completed within an hour or two. Last Spring, I made this dress and this one. Also, I made this shirt last year and wore it here and here.
When I think of Fall it brings to mind plaid, boots and sweaters. I pulled out this favorite sweater skirt (last worn here) and over the knee boots (seen last Fall here and here) to pair with a plaid shirt. I like incorporating pastels into all seasons of the year and this one works great to add camel and warm tones of brown leather. Leather is one of my favorite textiles. It holds ups really nicely over time and adds a handcrafted feel. I really like these boots I picked up and found a few other pairs similar here and here. If you are nervous to try a pair of over the knee flat boots, I would start with black ones. Black leggings look fantastic and slimming with them and you can add an oversize tunic or sweater to stay cozy. I also like them when I’m doing a bit of walking or am outside.
I’ve been wearing a lot more plaid lately and will be adding more to my upcoming posts. Plaid is up there with one of my favorite prints. I really want to make a plaid skirt next or get a cozy wrap like this one for travel. I have a few upcoming plans over the next couple of months and being comfy and chic while I’m on the go is a must! I do not like to feel like I’m adjusting my outfit, so comfort comes first! I also really like that the boots I’m wearing pack nicely since they are collapsible. I’ll be adding them into more of my outfits over the next few weeks!
