Holiday Red Coat
Coat: Bebe // Purse: Kate Spade New York // Pants: Marshalls // Top: Who What Wear for Target
Can you believe we are less than a week away from Thanksgiving? Is it me or did 2016 just fly right on by? Today I’m sharing a few ideas on styling a red jacket. Red is a color that seems to drift into my outfits during the middle of the Summer and then again towards the holidays. This red jacket was a find from a while ago (but I’ve linked a few similar options below under $100), I bought one year after Christmas and pull it back out every Fall.
Red looks great with neutrals so it takes center stage. You can run with a classic black and white scheme (see this post) or mix it up with a warm camel color like these pants. Another option is to wear it with a soft pink (see here). Since red and pink are technically the same color but different tints (a tint is a color that has more white added to it), they pair nicely.
As holiday parties are approaching, it’s a good time to inventory your closet for what you will wear. That way you aren’t stuck at the last-minute running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Velvet, sequins, embellishments and other luxurious fabrics can be pulled out to wear for the next month and a half. Also, consider your makeup right now – if you have been dying to try something new, experiment with a few shades of red, wine or burgundy until you find the right shade! I really like Maybelline’s Color Sensational Lip Color. I have this in a few shades and it stays on nicely while still moisturizing.
