Houston Hotspots: Heights Library

Dress: Vintage (options below) // Hat and Shoes: Target (similar here and here) // Tote: Danielle Nicole (newer version here)

One of the sweetest spots in Houston in the Springtime is the Heights Public Library. It's covered in blooming white flowers and always bustling with people. I grew up as an avid reader since my father is a bookworm too. We moved so much growing up, and oftentimes it was a way for me to stay entertained during our travels. I remember one year we lived in an area that my friends were further away. Everyday I would go to the library and check out a book, go home read it and repeat the next day. I think during that year I read most of The Babysitter's Club collection... remember those?

I love how pretty this library is and during the spring it's sprinkled with white azaleas. Sometimes the best spots are the least expected ones. Houston Heights is probably one of my favorite parts of the city. It's always busy with people playing at the park, walking, and restaurants thriving. They have some of the cutest littlest boutiques and places to grab coffee.

I pulled out m favorite boater hat and pair of espadrilles (similar here) for a sunny spring afternoon. I love this combination of yellow, white and black. It's simple, but not boring. I oftentimes wear hats instead of statement jewelry. It's so sunny here and so hot it just makes more sense. Espadrilles are a shoe I would highly recommend investing in if you don't have a pair already. They are so comfortable, breathable for a lot of walking and they look chic. This pair was picked up from Target, but I really like these and these if you are looking for something under $50.
