Poppy Picnic

Dress: Urban Outfitters (shop below) // Bandana: Craft Store Find (similar here) // Sandals: Qupid (almost bought these) // Bag: BCBG // Scarf: Abercrombie & Fitch (old) // Picnic Basket: Vintage (another one here)

Gingham is one of my favorite prints. It's simple sweet and is a perfect Spring/Summer look. I wore this simple Urban Outfitters gingham dress a few weeks back when the pink flowers were blooming along hillsides. Although I am not quite sure what they are actually called, they look a lot like poppies. I posted over the weekend some great areas near Houston to go spot wildflowers, but they will continue blooming for the next month or so until the sunflowers start to sprout.

Since the weather is just too pretty, I can't help but spend as much time as possible outside. Although you can make a picnic quite extravagant (see here), you can also keep it simple and just bring along whatever you have on hand... a simple salad, coconut water and some popcorn. I bought a vintage picnic basket a few years back and it's gotten so much mileage! Make sure you pick one out that has a sturdy handle and not too bulky - especially if you plan on taking a stroll to get to your picnic location.

Can you tell I'm on a bandana kick? (see here and here). Today I decided since the dress was a little lower cut than I usually wear to tie it around my neck so I didn't feel to bare.. I've found ten options below if you are looking for a new gingham dress

Oftentimes, I will take a break from whatever I'm doing over the weekend and enjoy the outdoor scenery.  I used one of my favorite gingham scarves to double as a blanket for one I've used fabric, blankets, sheets and now scarves as options for seating outdoors. It doesn't have to be a big show to have a little picnic - just throw a few things in a tote or basket and get out there! What are some of your favorite items to bring? I'd love to hear!
