As Monday approaches I thought I would share a little more red, white and blue inspiration for any last minute ideas needed. I picked up this adorable little striped peplum tee and couldn't wait for an excuse to wear it! It was less than $10 and looks perfect with my favorite pair of denim shorts. You can't really go wrong with a pair of shorts and striped top.
As a gal that wore heels for years, I've made a switch in the past two years to dress down my shoe choices. I think a big part of that choice was that I walk everywhere. I mean, everywhere. In Houston, it can really be a challenge - but I find ways to get where I need to go as much as I can on foot. In doing so, a comfy flat is a must have. These slip on shoes are the most comfy pair of shoes I own. Not only do the insoles come with memory foam... (it's like walking on clouds), but they also are made of soft fabric that doesn't cause blisters.
As far as accessories are concerned, a bandana is one of my favorites (seen here, here and here). I also really love a good backpack. Whether you are traveling or spending the day outside it's an easy way to pack snacks, towels and plenty of water. When I wear red anything, I love to swipe a bright red lipstick on. It's just an easy way to add a little color and you can keep the rest of your makeup simple. Hope you have a Happy 4th of July!
