Trend To Watch: Sneakers and a Sweater Dress

Just like the changing of the seasons, so has my wardrobe shifted for the move we made from Houston to Los Angeles. I noticed since I’ve been out here in California that sneakers are a shoe I just had to figure out how to incorporate into my feminine dressy wardrobe. Sneakers are one of those shoe styles I reserve mostly for long walks and work outs. I rarely wear them outside of doing something athletic… until now. After a few months of being on the West Coast I realize sneakers are almost a staple as opposed to an option. On a daily basis without making any sort of effort, I’m walking 3-4 miles. Also, parking is a nightmare here so even if I can drive somewhere I will spend 15 minutes finding parking and then walking to wherever my final destination is located.

There is also tons of concrete here so it’s important to find a shoe that has comfort and support. These platform sneakers are quickly making it to a start player in my wardrobe. They pretty much pair with anything and they have a little height which aides in my short stature. I love how easy they are to throw on with one of Fall’s favorite sweater dresses like this one on sale for $35!

Another really easy update to almost any outfit is to add a hair accessory! I have been constantly finding new outfits to wear barrettes, headbands, bows and even a scrunchie lately! For today’s look I used a wool plaid belt from a dress as a hair bow. You can use scarves or ribbons you already have on hand! For my bag I stuck to a classic Michael Kors with a gold chain to keep the look modern yet timeless. I can definitely see myself wearing this exact outfit in years to come!
