A few months back, my family and I went to the Texas Bluebonnet Festival in Chappell Hill, Texas. I really love small towns and I really love festivals, so it was a win-win afternoon for me. There is something so charming about wandering the small historic downtown square with the sound of a fiddle playing in the background and the smell of a funnel cake lingering in the air.

We roamed up and down the festival aisles browsing hand blown glass, homemade quilts and potted plants of all kinds. I managed to devour the food and picked up my favorite tote that reads "Hey Y'all!" (seen here and here).

I ate a delicious marscapone and cherry gelato popsicle and we sipped on fresh homemade lemonade. It was more than just shopping, but an experience of all sorts of american made goodness. I am so grateful to get to spend time like this with the people I love doing some of the things I love most.

I pulled out one of my favorite tops that was a DIY project from A Pair and A Spare and threw on a simple boater hat. I love to mix things I've worn in the past with different items to transition them from season to season. The simple white shorts and gladiator sandals really made the top work in the warmer months.

Chappell Hill is such a sweet little spot and sits right in the middle of one of the best areas to go find the infamous Texas Bluebonnet flower (see this post for more). It is only a few minutes from Navasota and Brenham and has some of the oldest architecture in this part of the state. We came across this beautiful church from the mid-1800s. I loved the red doors and traditional stained glass architecture.

We finished the day by picking up some French Lavender to add to the garden and I bought this adorable frock! Sometimes the best finds are around places like this! I highly recommend visiting this area next Spring for next's years annual event!
