Three Heel Clicks - Scenes Around Long Beach

We ended up making an unexpected business trip down to Long Beach, California. I thought I’d be gone a few days, but the trip was extended and I can’t complain. Out of all of the cities I’ve visited in California, Long Beach is the one I’m the most drawn to as of yet! With a laid back vibe, vintage and coffee shops all over and easy access to the beach it’s hard to beat! I’ll be posting a few more posts about this little city, but I figured today would be fun to share a few photos of the first scenes I saw around Long Beach.

We decided to start on East Ocean Blvd which is such a prime location. Typically, if we are going to be staying more than two nights we rent a home. Since there was a group of us, we found a place last minute with a deep discount! It was literally across the street from the beach and a few blocks from Broadway Street which has a lot to do. The location allowed me to rise and walk to a coffee shop to work out of each morning. One of my favorite coffee spots was The Library Coffeehouse. For anyone who has been to College Station, this place was really similar to Sweet Eugene’s!

One afternoon I walked about a mile and a half down to Chuck’s Coffee Shop which is more of a diner built back in the 60’s and then across the street to the pier. There are a ton of retail shops and restaurants in this area if you are looking to go shopping for the day! Half of the trip I decided to use Lime’s scooters which was perfect for transportation within 5 miles.

The weather was pretty ideal the entire time I’ve been here! I wore a lightweight sweater paired with shorts and pair of ballet flats. During the afternoon it is pretty warm and then cooler in the evening. I recommend bringing a backpack or tote with you no matter where you go. Long Beach is a great walking city with so much to do and I found the days I brought my own large bag made it so much easier to scoot back to the house.

Another thing I HIGHLY recommend to have is sunscreen! I made the mistake of forgetting to put on my SPF Veil and ended up pretty red after a few hours of walking around. I wear our SPF Veil daily since it’s made to wear under makeup! It’s been the best change I’ve made to my skincare regimen in years! It’s really lightweight and doesn’t break out my sensitive and reactive skin. The sky is so clear here with little shade during the heat of the day so bring your SPF!
