Red All Over
I have an affinity for red. You may remember this look from December where I chose an almost all red outfit for Christmas, or this look from the Fall with a Parisian flair. Today I've combined a little of the two for a transitional Winter to Spring look. With Valentine's Day just a week away I've been inspired by so much pink and red. Wearing a monochromatic look can be so slimming and lengthening for those who are on the petite side. The key to it is to make sure your colors don't clash and that your pieces fit appropriately.
Here I pulled out a favorite jacket I bought in college over a decade ago and added it over a red sheath dress I picked up this Summer for Fourth of July. I knew as soon as I put these two together this red tote was a perfect fit for work.
Sometimes I don't plan outfits out. This one just happened on a whim this morning. If you have pieces that fit well and colors that go together well it's so much easier to just throw something on. I will tell you though, this isn't the last of this jacket or dress you will be seeing. They are such classic pieces and I feel like it would be a long time for them not to be in style.
As far as the finishing touches? Well, who can go wrong with a beret, classic cat-eye sunnies and a pair of comfortable loafers to dress it down for a day at the office. I fee like so many people flock to black accessories, but a warm brown works just as nicely and is an unexpected option.
