Postcards from Las Vegas

If there’s one city you know you will be worn out when you leave it, it’s Las Vegas, Nevada. Oh my goodness! I haven’t been there in a couple of years and let me tell you… this thirty-eight-year-old came back wiped out. The funny part is I just got back from round two and haven’t posted about either trip.

Over the past two months, I attended a couple of conferences. I was lucky enough to get a little time while I was out there to grab dinner and sightseeing. I had amazing lunch at Mon Ami Gabi and dinner at the Cafe Americano in the Paris. I stayed at the MGM Signature Grand which had suites for rooms and a giant jacuzzi tub in which I added the most amazing bath tea bag and fuzzies to it from the adorable shop downstairs.

I shared a little last week in this post about my trip to South Padre Island. This is the perfect Spring Break location if you are looking for a tropical paradise in Texas. The water is incredible, the beaches are soft with rolling sand dunes and the island is filled with turtles, birds, dolphins, and other wildlife. It’s a welcomed oasis in South Texas. While I was on the island I drove over the bridge to Port Isabel where one of the most beautiful lighthouses on the gulf coast resides. The lighthouse sits in the middle of Port Isabel’s town square with a multitude of shops and restaurants. The lighthouse is open to tour so make sure you check their website for hours and cost for admission. Since I knew I’d be walking a lot that day I pulled out my favorite pair of flats!

The Most Comfortable Pump on the Planet

After years of wearing heels at all hours of the day and night for work, fun and special occasions I am here to tell you I think I found the mecca for shoes. Ah-em… welcome to Sarah Flint! A few years ago I came across Sarah’s pumps when I was following another blogger. The brand claimed they have the most comfortable heels period. When Sarah reached out for me to meet her PR team, I was elated. I had been toying with the idea to buy a pair. Let’s just put it this way… I’m now on my fourth pair. The shoes absolutely lived up to what they said they would be. Whether you are looking to wear as a guest to a wedding or maybe you have an important interview coming up these are the pumps that will let you walk like a woman!

Winter and Spring Amazon Finds Under $100

A few items I wear year-round include a trenchcoat, swing dress, good pair of flats, and sunglasses. My coat is actually from Everlane (also available for purchase on Amazon - here’s an under $100 version), and my flats were under $100 as well. Most days you’ll find me in a pair of aviators or Ray-Ban sunglasses but I keep a few inexpensive pairs within reach in my car as backup. A simple swing dress is great this time of year. You can swap the trench coat out for a warmer one on a cold day and a pair of boots with the dress above. Another option is to layer tights and loafers on chilly mornings with this look. When you get home, it can double as loungewear since it’s so comfortable and easy to move around in. I’ve fallen asleep many evenings in this same dress!
