Polka Dot Top
What a fun but whirlwind of a weekend. It all started friday night and going to Discovery Green to see their moonGarden installation (which you can read more about in this post). It was a blast so Saturday we spent the day at home just catching up on things around the house, exercise and relaxing. Yesterday was filled from brunch to church to having company over! It was a fun day, but very unexpected series of events. My daughter and I ended up going to Tiny No. 5’s Milk and Cookies stand for the first time! I’ve been to Tiny Boxwoods (and you can read this post all about the amazing experience) but never made it over to their Milk and Cookies stand. You can walk right up and order ice cream, coffee, pastries and milk! It’s so much fun for grown ups and adults. Not to mention, their cookies are to die for!
Afterwards we took a little stroll down what I think is the most beautiful street in Houston called North Boulevard. If you are ever near the Museum or Medical district in Houston take a few minutes and drive or walk down the east side of North Boulevard where it reaches Montrose. The trees grown in a tunnel which makes a huge canopy in the neighborhood shading the streets. It’s just one of the most beautiful places in the city.
For this Sunday afternoon stroll I wore a simple polka dot top with a necktie (which would look darling with a fluted pencil skirt for work or a pair of white sailor pants come Spring.) I paired it with simple nude flats I’ve been wearing since the beginning of June and a little pop of red. I’ve linked a few of my favorite red lip colors below but this one is by BITE Beauty and stays put! Adding a simple bucket bag and scarf in my hair gave it all an almost retro feel! Plus it was great to take kids to the park later on, grab ice cream at Fat Cat Creamery and run errands.
