Simple Modern Linen Look in Santa Monica

For over two months I’ve been here in Santa Monica, California living this sunshine life to its fullest. I think it’s rained only twice the entire time I’ve been here! Although we are entering Winter, I know many of you have upcoming travel plans to warmer destinations. I figured it would be helpful to have a little inspiration for what to wear if you are in said destinations. Also, if you are going somewhere for Christmas this is such a cute look with a little bit of poppy red.

Linen is by far my favorite fabric. I mean I love a good paper thin cotton however linen has such beautiful texture to compete with! I found this beautiful relaxed over-sized number at a local flea market (I share about that in this post). I found similar ones here for you guys to take a look at, but it’s best to choose a linen piece with structure. Look for darts, princess seams, pleats and other details that gift the piece of fabric shape. This keeps linen from looking frumpy and much more modern!

Start with a beautiful linen dress…

These adorable white sandals are so versatile. I picked them up at the end of this Summer and they’ve been on repeat every single day I can possibly wear them. They make my legs elongated and match almost anything. Major bonus points for being able to slide into a purse or a suitcase taking up little room. I finished this look off with a pair of over-sized sunglasses, tortoise shell earrings and a pop of red on my bucket bag.

Pair With…

Don’t forget to wear SPF if you are in the sun. This applies all year round and especially if you spend a lot of time outdoors or driving in your car. Try a lightweight veil that’s made to wear alone or under makeup. I swear by this one every single day! It doesn’t even break my sensitive skin out! After I apply sunscreen I use BB cream and then a little concealer to get a beautiful natural looking even glow!
